Setting up indicators

This article explains how to create or modify a dashboard indicator from the admin space

Updated over 2 months ago

All the settings of the indicators, creation and/or modification, are done from the "admin" space (red banner).

The operation is the same for the Climate and CSR module.

In your Project you have a menu titled "Indicators" ⬇️

By clicking on it, you will have access to the list of your previously configured indicators and the option to add new ones.

From this list, you can quickly access the details of a pre-configured indicator by clicking on the arrow at the end of the line

The creation form is accessible from the "Add an Indicator" button, and the modification form for an indicator is accessible via the pencil icon on the line of the respective indicator.

The creation/modification page of an indicator unfolds over several steps.

1. Connect the indicator to the structure of your reference system:

  • Indicator Name: text field to enter the label of the indicator in the desired language: French (mandatory), German, English, Spanish, Italian, Flemish, Dutch, Portuguese (optional).

  • Unit: text field to specify the unit of the indicator

  • Category: dropdown field to link the indicator to an issue (indicator from the CSR module) or a Sub-item (indicator from the Climate module).

⚠️ Note: by default, the indicator is attached to the first issue/sub-item in the dropdown list.

  • Indicator Tags: dropdown field to link the indicator to a tag you have previously created to classify your different indicators (How to create tags on a project of my organization?)

2. Designing the indicator

  • Formula: this is where you will enter the calculation rule and the associated variables. The symbol "$" represents the variables followed by their respective numbers. Example: $1/$2

  • Add variables: You must now select the source data involved in the calculation of the indicator. To do this click on the "Add a variable" button.

Several options are available to you: Data, Category, Aggregation Tag (article on Aggregation Tags)

Once the variable is selected, you must define the type of calculation associated with the variables.

Two types of calculations are possible for data consolidation within a variable: "SUM" and "AVERAGE".
    Example below:
The variable 1 accounts for the sum of the data from the Purchases category.

If you add elements to the variable, such as the sum of another category, you will be able to choose the Type of variable. That is, whether the variable corresponds to a Sum or the Average of several sums.

On the right side of the form, you have a space to preview your indicator.

Once created, you will be able to see its evolution compared to year N-1.

This information is available from the list view of the indicators library in the user space (green banner)

💡 Good to know

  • Le Français reste obligatoire lorsque vous souhaitez créer un indicateur dans une autre langue.

  • The created indicators will not apply to your closed campaigns. When you create a new indicator, it will only apply to your "open" campaigns.

You now know how to set up your indicators 🎉
