How to determine the uncertainty of the activity data? (cursor unreliable value - very reliable)

In the collection section, you can see a column indicating "Data uncertainty in (%)". This uncertainty corresponds to the total uncertainty calculated for each of your data entries. (based on the reliability of the collected data and the uncertainty of the emission factor)

By clicking on the "edit" pencil located to the right of your data row. (image below), you will access different information that can help you manage the Carbon Balance collection for year N as well as future Carbon Balances.

Indeed, this section allows you to indicate different things:

- indicate that you do not have the value of the data

- collect the value of your data

- specify the reliability of your value using a cursor

- explain the assumptions that led to obtaining this data, the sources, the calculations made...

- attach documents justifying the value of your data

- revisit a data entry if its value is not fixed using the bookmark located at the top right

Determining the reliability of the activity data is not obvious: it depends on each collaborator and the sources you have available.

To help you measure the reliability of your values while maintaining a certain consistency regardless of the person collecting the data, we provide you with an example measure to maintain coherence across your entire project.
