In order to report the CO2e emissions from the Carbon Balance at the end of its collection, it is necessary to conduct an analysis of its first Carbon Balance.
This step is facilitated by the various graphs you have access to in the "Analysis" section.
Cette étape est facilitée par les différents graphiques auxquels vous avez accès dans la partie "Analyse".
Global Analysis
Initially, a global analysis by category can be performed. This initial analysis allows for a quick identification of the most emission-intensive categories.
During your first analysis, you identified emissions with significant magnitudes that seem inconsistent...
Common types of errors: Watch out for the units
Units are very important in your carbon balance. An error in the units can change the value of your emissions by a factor of 1000.
Common errors include:
Data collected in € instead of k€
Data to be collected in kg or tonnes
Example: input data collected in € instead of k€
Here, the service purchases have too significant an impact on your carbon balance. Consider checking the values of your collection.
Here, the unit defined for collecting aluminum purchases is in k€. Therefore, be careful to properly convert data from € in the expense account to k€ for collection.
By converting the data collected in k€, you will see that the emissions from the purchase category will significantly decrease.
Analysis by entity
It is possible in the Analysis to compare the different entities with each other in order to determine the specificities of each entity.
The graph on the left helps to understand the significant categories of the entities as well as observe their total emissions.
The middle graph allows for analyzing the distribution of emissions for each entity (in % and in tCO2e).
The right graph allows for analyzing the carbon intensity of the entities based on parameters specific to your company, here the turnover and the full-time equivalents.
Analysis by tags
It is possible to tag your data or your collection entities, allowing you to create custom graphs for other axes of analysis.
Some of the most commonly used tags are as follows:
- Scope 1,2,3
- Emission categories for BGESr
- type of site (based on the structure of your organization): industrial, logistics, headquarters...
- type of travel: soft mobility, public transport, car, airplane...
Analysis by year
The first Carbon Balance measurements provide a snapshot of the company's CO2e emissions. Subsequently, it is essential to project a long-term vision in order to reduce intensive activities and comply with the Paris Agreement (-50% GHG emissions by 2030 and net zero by 2050).
The "By Year" tab allows you to visualize the evolution of your emissions by categories but also to observe the evolution of carbon intensity by FTE and Revenue
For a more in-depth Analysis, you can use the tag and entity filters.
They are available in the Global Analysis (by Category), by Entities, and by Year.
