How to assign my tags to different data, entities, or indicators?

In the article "How to create tags on a project in my organization", we discussed the various steps that allow you to create tags on your project.

In this article, we will explain how to assign these tags to the associated data.
Several solutions exist to assign your tags.

1 - Tag the information from your project's tag list screen.

For each tag you create, there is a button labeled “Tag my ... (entities, data, or metrics).”

Example for an entity:

A new page will open displaying all the information you configured for the entity tag, along with the entities in your project.

It’s up to you to assign the tags to the entities in your project.

Don’t forget to save.

2 - The second option is to go to the edit screen for the entity, data (accessible from the template), or relevant indicator to assign it the desired tag.

Example for an entity:

Example for an indicator:

The assignment is made in the indicator creation/editing area, in the “Indicator Information” section, as shown below:

3 - The final option is to assign your tags directly from the collection template (applies only to data and entity tags)

First, you need to display the column for the desired tag.

You will see an “Entity Tag” column, followed by a column for each data tag (example below: Scope and test).

To display these columns in the template, you must select them by clicking the button to the right of “Filter.”

Once the columns are displayed in the table, all you have to do is select the desired tag for each data point using the drop-down menu.

You can also select multiple entries in the table and assign the same tag to all of them.

A banner appears at the top of the table with drop-down menus for assigning the information.

On the entities and metrics page, there is a column that lets you quickly see whether a tag is associated with your entities or metrics

Example:

⚠️ It is not possible to check 2 tag values:

Let's take the example of the Scopes:

A data point cannot be assigned to 2 different scopes, so it is necessary to uncheck one scope to assign the data to another scope.
