How to use the import feature?
Updated over 2 months ago

In the tool you have the option to import or modify in bulk certain items listed below:

  • The value of the data

  • the availability of a data point (yes/no)

  • The explanation of the entry (text format)

  • The status (completed, in the process of collection, to be completed)

  • The reliability of a data point (0-100)

Modifications must be made on the spreadsheet, downloaded through the data collection export (👉 How to export my filtered or unfiltered data to an Excel file?)

Starting from this file you will just need to modify the values of the data.

You will only be able to modify the items listed above, which are the columns represented in green in the spreadsheet ⬇️

Once your spreadsheet is filled, the import is done from the Collection table using the "Import" button

Then you just need to search for your file on your computer and select it to import.

💡 Some good practices before making your import:

  • If you wish to copy/paste between multiple spreadsheets, remember to copy as values to avoid any corruption of the file.

  • Check for #N/A

  • Fill in the status "Completed" on all completed rows in the Status column

  • For unavailable data, leave the Value field empty and indicate "Yes" in the Unavailable data field

  • In the Value column you can put a maximum of 3 digits after the decimal point

  • Remember to format your ‘Value’ column as a ‘Number’.

  • Delete the empty lines at the end of your file.

  • Import only what you wish to modify. If you wish to modify the values of a category, you can import only the data of that category and not the entire collection.

  • Be careful of errors between 2 campaigns. For example, if you export the collection of 2023 to have the model of the spreadsheet to then make modifications and then import into the 2024 collection, it will not work. The IDs of the data between 2 campaigns are different and we will not be able to match them.

⚠️ Warning, the import feature has the capacity to overwrite all data of a project. We must be particularly vigilant with this feature.

We recommend downloading and keeping a copy of the collection before your import.
