How to update the FEs during an upgrade of the Carbon Base® or a new version of your own FEs?

Updated over 2 months ago

The Toovalu tool integrates within its tool the Base Carbon® of ADEME. From version to version, EF is updated and their values change.

For your ongoing projects, the EFs you use for your configuration may therefore become obsolete. To facilitate the update of its EFs, Toovalu offers an automatic update feature for its EFs.

You then arrive at an overview of all the EFs that are used within your project. You can see in which category they are used, their value, the concerned data, the source database, as well as the evolution of the value in case of a change of base.

You have 2 options. You can click directly on "Update all emission factors", and all your EFs will be directly updated to the latest version of the available database.

You can also choose which EF you want to update manually. To do this, you can go line by line clicking on the circular arrow symbol in the "Status" column.

You now know how to update your EFs according to the latest version of the Base Carbon® of ADEME!

You can also use this feature if you have created a new source for your company's specific emission factor (FE).
By creating a new source, you can update your own FEs with their new values (how to create a new source for your own emission factor?).
You will need to recreate your FE after creating the new source and then indicate the same referenced identifier (how to create an emission factor?)
Your FE's new source with the new value will then be automatically proposed here.
