The action plan section allows you to set actions and translate them into a reduction in emissions. You will then be able to see if the planned actions are sufficient to meet the trajectory you have built, or simply evaluate the extent of the improvement of your Carbon Footprint.
In this action plan, you can find 3 different levels to structure your strategy:
Axis/Stake (for the CSR part) or Category/Subcategory (for the Climate part): this is the highest grouping level, which will represent the main axes of your strategy. They correspond to those you have set in your initial project.
Ambition: this is the overall objective you will link to your actions.
Action: this is the lowest level of your action plan, where you will set your operational actions.
It is also in this view that you can manage your action plan. You have the option to assign a status of progress for each action (To do, in progress, completed, blocked).
You can also filter your actions according to categories, ambitions, entities assigned to your actions, responsible members assigned to your actions, as well as based on status.
An action in a low-carbon strategy is a set of operations carried out between a reference year and a detailed year, to modify and reduce certain GHG emissions of the organization. To define it in Toovalu Impact, you therefore need to fill in:
The name of the action: a group of words, simple and clear to characterize the action or set of operations. (Ex: Implement an additional weekly teleworking day)
The ambition to which your action is linked, that is to say the operational objective that one wishes to achieve through the implementation of this action (Ex: 2 teleworked days per week)
The reference year: Year from which the action starts, that is to say the GHG emissions associated will serve as a basis for projection.
The due year: Planned year for the end of this action, that is to say when the target vision of the action will be reached.
Entities involved: to refine the action plan by specifying the entities concerned by the implementation of the action
Impact (Climate only) : Allows to define the reductions and/or increases of greenhouse gas emissions that result from the implementation of the action. Note that an action can lead to an increase in certain GHG emissions and a reduction in others. To define the impact, it is necessary to select the relevant data (Ex: Electricity consumption related to teleworking increased by 100%, Home-Work travel reduced by 12.5%)
Comment: we recommend that you incorporate as many elements as possible that will promote the transparency, robustness, and replicability of your action. You can, for example, provide the assumptions used, the status of the action (brainstorming, validated, to be validated, engaged, etc.), the responsible person, etc.
You can also assign a responsible member to each action. You have the choice among all the members of your organization.
Finally, you have the option to manage each action according to the financial resources to allocate, which provides an additional element to prioritize your actions.
To create your action, you need to have an ambition to link it to:
Name of your ambition
Category of ambition: allows you to classify and find your action more easily
Reference indicator: allows you to monitor our progress relative to the goal / ambition set.
To facilitate dialogue between members managing the action plan, you have the option to add comments on each action.
To do this, you can click on "View action details," and you will have access to a discussion thread. The most recent message appears first, and you can delete comments that you no longer wish to see.
You can now manage your action plan without worries!
