The Reference and the Collection Template correspond to the structure of your project.
They can be configured from the Admin space of Toovalu Impact.
This step will allow you to classify your data by Category and Sub-Category, also known as Items and Sub-items or Axes - Issues for CSR projects.
Structuring your project will give you an overview of the data you need to collect.
Here is what a Reference looks like
We can see the Categories (Energy, Travel, Investments, Waste, etc..). and the Sub-Categories (Steam Purchase, Electricity, Air Transport, Rail, IT, etc..).
Each data point must necessarily be classified within a Sub-Category for it to be included in your balance calculation.
The development of the Reference is the logical follow-up to the flow mapping you carried out within your organisation (flow mapping article).
The Collection Template comes into play after the creation of the Reference.
This is where we will go into detail by creating rows corresponding to the data you are going to collect.
Each row represents a specific data point, which is linked to a Sub-category of your Reference.
For each data point we have the associated Category and Sub-category, the Name of the data, the unit (kWh, kg, litre, etc..), the associated emission factor, the value and the uncertainty of the emission factor, the associated tags, and finally the number of entities concerned.
Once all the data points are created you can begin the Collection.
