ā New feature - Draft indicator
[features accessible only to users with a pilot, partner or administrator role on a Climate project]
A new feature has just been delivered: the ability to create indicators in Draft mode! This new indicator status allows you to pre-set indicators. That is to say, without the obligation to provide, for example, a formula and data. This can be very useful, for example, to start integrating some initial CSRD indicators still in progress. You will find these indicators in the library, in a separate section (by default, they are hidden).
Delivery November 29
ā New feature - Attach the link between closed campaign data and ongoing reference
[features accessible only to users with a pilot, partner or administrator role]
This feature, which falls within the complexity of the reference, is accessible only to administrators. Nevertheless, it may be interesting as a partner or pilot to know that it is possible to recreate a link between entities or data between the settings of a closed campaign and the ongoing template.
The reconstruction of links concerns:
The entity link
The data link from the template
If you have a need to update the N/N-1 link in the settings of a closed campaign, you can:
For partners: seek help from the Toovalu admins during the partner hotline for the setup.
For pilots: reach out to your consultant for the setup.
Improvement - Dashboards
[features accessible only to users with a pilot, partner or administrator role on a Climate project]
You now have the ability to create a dashboard accessible to all project members.
[features accessible to all users except users with a reader role]
You now have the ability to create a dashboard that will be visible only on your access.
Delivery November 21
Improvement - Collection space
A new text search field has appeared in the administration on the members page. Useful for quickly searching for a member by name to update their access to Toovalu Impact.
Improvement - Administration
Data and entity tags have been added to the collection page and the detail page of a data point. It is possible to show or hide these new columns.
Delivery November 16, 2023
Improvement - Collection template export
A small update in the Collection section of the Climate module. A new column is present in the data export file: the amortization period (column J: "Amortization (year)"). Thus, by exporting your data, you can quickly be aware of data that are associated with an amortization duration and pre-filled values in Toovalu.
Delivery October 26, 2023
ā New feature - Detailed trajectory
Although the trajectory feature already allowed for setting a global trajectory, we have worked hard to deliver this feature: the ability to set reduction targets on tags, particularly by scopes. You will now be able to set differentiated reduction targets according to various scopes to establish ambitious, solid greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction trajectories aligned with methodology reference recommendations.
The user interface has been redesigned to allow you to pre-fill targets based on a reference trajectory such as SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative) or SNBC (National Low-Carbon Strategy) by different scopes (by scope, by activity, ...). But you also have the option to define a custom target by setting an annual reduction rate of your emissions between a reference year and a target year.
To take advantage of this new feature, the first step will be to review the current page "Your Reduction Targets."
Delivery October 13, 2023
ā New feature - Facilitating data/entity setup via tags
[features only accessible to users with a pilot, partner, or administrator role]
This new feature was delivered to greatly facilitate the setup of your data. In the administration space, in the modification form of a data point, you now have the option to use tags to assign entities. By selecting an entity tag, for example "activity" or "site type" you can associate the data point with all entities of type "Store," which will save you valuable time.
Additionally, we have also improved the user experience by grouping all entities under a clear list and adding a search bar for smoother navigation. You can now find the desired entities quickly and effortlessly.
The manual setup of entities also remains an option. By using the dropdown menu "Concerned Entities", you can individually select the relevant entities. Furthermore, using Entity Tags will allow you to further optimize your time. Just make sure you have correctly set the Entity Tags in advance.
To learn more about this new feature, check out our detailed article in the FAQ by following this link.

Improvement - Navigation in the user space
In the Collect section, the first 50 rows of the template are displayed by default (before this update, only the first 10 rows were displayed).
You've been waiting for this for a little while! It's now in place: a search field for the name of the data point. This should simplify data collection even further (note that search currently only works on the name of the data point).
You've been waiting for this for a little while! It's now in place: a search field for the name of the data point. This should simplify data collection even further (note that search currently only works on the name of the data point).
Detailed data point:
A feature that will be useful for project CSR contributors. In the collection space, you are used to identifying by a Client ID (if this term doesn't mean anything to you, you can check out this article in the FAQ). From now on, you will also find Client IDs in the detailed data point.
You will also be able to navigate the structure of the template (axis > issues for CSR projects and post > sub-post for climate projects).
Improvement - Navigation in the admin space
[features accessible only to users with a pilot, partner or administrator role on a Climate project]
A search field is now available on the "Entity" page to more easily search for the desired entity (the search only works on the name of the entity). This should allow you to quickly update the settings of your entities (name and associated tags: country, activity...) especially if your project has more than a hundred entities! especially if your project has more than a hundred entities!
A "language" column has been added to the members table to see which language is assigned to each user FR or EN (sortable column). Very practical as a pilot, to ensure that each contributor can easily use the Toovalu Impact platform in either the language of Shakespeare or MoliĆØre.
In the reference space, in the create/edit category form (category = axis/issues for CSR projects and for climate projects, category = post/sub-post), a checkbox displayed "visible in the Analysis section." We have changed this old label to "visible in the Analysis and Management/Strategy section." One might think that this is an improvement of little importance... And yet, many of you were wondering why certain categories were no longer visible in the Management/Strategy section. And that's normal, it's because you were not informed!
Note: as a reminder, this feature is very useful when your reference includes a "Essential Data" category. This allows you to have the category in the collection space but masks it in the analysis and management to avoid cluttering your dashboards or your trajectory.

Improvement and Adjustment - Compliance with the Carbon BalanceĀ® Method
[features only accessible to users with a pilot, partner, or administrator role]
We have been working for several months to ensure that Toovalu Impact is fully recognized as compliant by the Association for Low-Carbon Transition with the requirements of the Carbon BalanceĀ® method. This process aims to guarantee the coherence of our tool with this recognized methodology, to better meet your needs, and to ensure the methodological robustness of our tool in light of the highest requirements in France.
To ensure the success of this compliance audit, we have made adjustments in the climate module:
Negative emission factors could already not be added manually within our tool, but some exist within the ADEME Emission Base. The emissions from these factors are now no longer taken into account in the analysis in case of a negative Emission Factor (EF) for the concerned line.
You now have the option to dismantle an EF manually, whether by post, by gas, or a combination of both, as is already done by ADEME or other external organizations within their database.
We have introduced a PDF export in the analysis, providing a complete summary of the campaign, allowing for easy communication of your approach to your various stakeholders, both internal and external. This summary includes: the number of ETP, revenue, the total and percentage of emissions for each post, total emissions, your organizationās information, and physical data equivalents. Expect to see even more visual features in future updates (notably the sunburst visual presented in the analysis space > tab by post).
Delivery September 8, 2023
Improvement - Indicator setup
[features only accessible to users with a pilot, partner, or administrator role]
Save time when setting up your indicators! Save time when setting up your indicators! In the analysis section of the CSR module and the Climate module, the setup of indicators is enriched with a new type of variable: the tag type variable.
How to use this new variable in the design form of an indicator? Letās take an example, you want to highlight your emissions in the digital sector, no need to search for the data related to your digital impact one by one, you will just need to select the tag variable and then select the tag "Digital".
This tag variable allows you to exploit both data tags and entity tags. You will just need to properly set up your tags in the administration space beforehand.
Delivery August 29, 2023
Improvement - Export data collection Climate module
The export of data in BEGES format now includes a second tab. You now have the possibility to export in BEGES V4 and BEGES V5.
Delivery July 17, 2023
ā New feature - Tag consolidation
This delivery brings a new visual at the bottom of the detail page of an indicator. You can choose from the list of tags configured in your project to consolidate and compare the indicator's results by country, business unit, activity...
The most relevant use cases for this feature primarily leverage entity tags.

ā New feature - CSR action plan
[features accessible in modification, only to users with a pilot, partner, or administrator role]
The Management section is now also available in the CSR module!
Now, you can create your actions from this section or directly from an indicator's page. These actions are linked to your strategic axes and your challenges. Additionally, you have the option to define an ambition by establishing operational objectives related to the concerned indicator.
Improvement - Climate action plan
[features accessible in modification, only to users with a pilot, partner, or administrator role]
In the Strategy section of the climate module, we have implemented several improvements. In the "Action Plan" tab, you can now define your actions with more precision by configuring the increases and/or reductions of greenhouse gas emissions generated by the implementation of each action. In the "My trajectory" tab, new filters by positions, entities, and tags allow you to focus on your trajectory by scope, activity, BU...
A page on the FAQ explains the configuration of an action in Climate.
/!\ Old actions (from the catalog and client projects) will need to be updated.
Delivery July 5, 2023
ā New feature - Color picker
[features only accessible to users with a pilot, partner, or administrator role]
Who said that color choice wasnāt important? You already had the option to choose your colors to adapt the Analysis charts and the template categories to your graphic charter. So that you can quickly select the exact color you desire, we have reworked the interface so that you can input the Hex code or the RGBA code of the color of your choice.
And unfortunately, not everyone perceives colors in the same way, some users might find themselves in different environments or situations that make color and contrast perception complex, we pay special attention to the accessibility of our interface. To this end, we have provided a selection of accessible colors with contrast levels facilitating reading.
Delivery June 14, 2023
ā New feature - Row copy
[features only accessible to users with a pilot, partner, or administrator role]
This feature is aimed at all pilots and partners. Go to the administration, on the data collection template page, where you will find this new "Row copy" button. This almost magical feature will save you valuable time when configuring your collection template by duplicating in one click a data entry and its associated configuration (assignment of entities and tags).
Delivery June 8, 2023
ā New feature - Update of emission factors
[features accessible only to users with a pilot, partner or administrator role]
The emission factors of the Base EmpreinteĀ® - Ademe have been updated. If you wish to update the emission factors used in your projects, this feature will allow you to quickly identify the updates available for the list of emission factors used in your project.
Delivery June 7, 2023
Improvement - Export
A small update on the data export side. The export columns that were not utilized in the CSR module (FE, uncertainty of FE, etc.) have been removed from the export. The little bonus is that in the export of your Excel file, in the "value" and "value N-1" columns, the decimal separators are no longer ".". but a ",", no more searching/replacing to rework your data in Excel!
This optimization also corrects an anomaly that could appear on projects with high data volumes. From now on, all data collection campaigns can be exported regardless of the data volume. For campaigns with significant data volumes, you will just need to wait a little (about 30 sec), for smaller campaigns, the export will be much faster.
Delivery April 14, 2023
Improvement - Indicator
[features accessible only to users with a pilot, partner or administrator role]
You can now create indicators from the calculated emissions. This will allow you to implement intensity indicators in your dashboards.
The process of creating an indicator has also been updated in this delivery. From now on, the source data is sorted according to the axis > challenge. For indicators from the CSR module, the Client ID appears in the list of source data, to make it easier to navigate in the setup.
Delivery March 9, 2023
ā New feature - Modification of closed campaigns
[features accessible only to users with a pilot, partner or administrator role]
A highly awaited new feature that allows pilots and partners who have already performed several carbon assessments or CSR reporting on Toovalu to evolve their closed campaigns.
This feature is aimed at all pilots and partners who have already performed several carbon assessments or CSR reporting campaigns, and who wish to apply structural changes (entities, etc.) to closed campaigns, or take into account methodological changes (emission factor, etc.) on all campaigns of a project, in order to establish a coherent and evolving strategy.
Before the implementation of this feature, the action of closing a campaign was quite decisive because once the campaign was closed, it was no longer possible to make changes and evolve the reference. This new feature allows you, via a workflow, to perform various actions within your closed campaigns:
Modify the entities
Modify the reference and template
Modify the tags
As a reminder, when a campaign is not closed, as soon as an evolution is made on the project reference, the reference of the campaign also evolves.
Delivery February 15, 2023
ā New feature - Assign a data tag to a member
[features only accessible to users with a pilot, partner, or administrator role]
Do you want to involve the Purchasing department in the data collection of your carbon footprint without polluting it with waste collection, travel, and all the other data needed to measure your carbon footprint? Itās now possible to limit access to data via tags.
In the administration space > member > permission management, you can now apply restrictions on access to data. A dropdown field will allow you to select the list of data-type tags on which to apply the restriction. For example, if you want a contributor to have access only to the data "DPEF", you just need to ensure that this tag has been properly set up on the collection template and then apply it to the contributor.
ā New feature - Sanctuarize the data
[features only accessible to users with a pilot, partner, or administrator role]
Sanctuarize your data with one click so that contributors can no longer modify the data of a collection campaign!
You now have the option in the administration > project > Campaigns, to prevent members who are "Collectors" from modifying data on a campaign. To do this, simply click on the new icon (see image below) to activate the action "set the campaign to read-only."
Do you want to go back? Just click again on the same icon to apply the action "remove read-only."
Improvement - Tag Management
[features only accessible to users with a pilot, partner, or administrator role]
To facilitate the setup of tags and their exploitation, we have implemented tag categorization.
The type of tag will help you better navigate among the various tag lists you have created. The tag type will allow you to better navigate among the different lists of tags you have created. And also optimize the mapping of your tags at the level of entities and data: in the entity configuration space, you will no longer be cluttered by data tags, the same goes for data form (the dropdown list of tags will now only present the "Data" type tags).
Note: For all projects that already used tags, we have already defined their type ("Data" or "Entity"). When we did not have the necessary context to define this categorization, the tag type was defined as "Undefined category." You will be able to define the type of these tags in the administration space, on the "My tags" page.
Delivery January 24, 2023
ā New feature - Validation process
[features only accessible to users with a pilot, partner, or administrator role]
Ensure the reliability of the collected data to prepare for your audits and certifications, thanks to the data validation process!
The Verification sub-module is now equipped with a new space: "VALIDATION". To activate the data validation process for your projects in the Climate and CSR module, go to the administration.
In the Validation tab, new statuses appear. A workflow allows you to validate or reject the data "Pending validation."
The "Validated" data will be frozen, not modifiable by contributors. For the rejected data, it is returned to the sender, and will appear in the collection space with the status "To correct." As soon as the contributor corrects the data, it is once again visible in the validation space.
To allow the contributor to understand why the data was rejected, you have the option to add a comment.
Improvement - Progress tracking
[features only accessible to users with a pilot, partner, or administrator role]
Quickly identify the progress of data collection for each entity. Do you want to know if the tagged data "DPEF", "BU France" has been collected? Are you wondering where the collection of the tagged data "Scope 3", "Purchase" is at? You now have the ability to answer these questions by using filters by tags and/or categories (Axes for the CSR module and Positions for the Climate module).
A new graph also allows you to have an overview of the progress of your collection. The graph representing progress by entity has been revised, in order to facilitate the readability of this graph, a carousel now allows navigation between the results of different entities.
If you want to have an overview of the progress across all entities, activate "view the data table" from the graph (button at the top left).
Delivery January 19, 2023
ā New feature - Indicators & Pie chart
A new type of visual is now available in the indicator creation form. For your Climate and CSR dashboards, you can set up indicators with a "Pie chart" visual. This type of graph sometimes called a pie chart, will allow you to represent values/categories by proportional parts.
Improvement - Organization of dashboards
A small improvement in the Analysis sub-module > "Dashboard" tab: within each dashboard, you now have the possibility from the "Organize dashboard" view to resize the size of each widget.
