The different statuses of a campaign

What are the different statuses of a campaign within the Toovalu Impact tool and what does that imply for your project?

Updated over 2 months ago

To begin, let's define the concept of Campaign within Toovalu:

A campaign corresponds to a period during which you have decided to account for your emissions. Generally, a campaign corresponds to a calendar year.

A campaign is part of a project (e.g., Carbon footprint of company Y).

Therefore, we can have multiple Campaigns within the same Project, corresponding to the assessments conducted at different times.

Your Campaigns are accessible from your Projects screen by simply clicking on "Campaigns"

They can have multiple statuses:

  1. Closed campaign

A closed campaign is a locked campaign
This action freezes the reference framework established for this campaign. The leads will still have the possibility to modify the reference framework of this campaign in the admin section.

⚠️ However, some elements will not be modifiable such as the campaign indicators, tags on the data, and the categorization to which a data belongs ⚠️

The reference framework of this campaign becomes independent, and the modifications you make to it will only impact this campaign.

Conversely, changes made to the Project's reference framework will not impact this campaign since you have separated your Project reference from the Campaign reference.

That's why we emphasize that closing a campaign has consequences and that you should be aware of the impacts before taking this action.

-> We advise you to close the campaign at the last moment, when you have completed the Carbon or CSR assessment.

To find out how to close your campaign, you can refer to this article.

  2. Collection completed

This status informs you in the tool that the end date of the collection has passed. Date that you previously provided when creating your campaign.
You will find this information in the green banner of the tool

This status has no particular impact on the collection or your reference; it is mainly for informational purposes and you can modify the collection period by changing your campaign ⬇️

  3. Collecting

As its name indicates, this campaign is currently collecting. The Carbon or CSR assessment for this reference year is underway, and your colleagues must enter the values of the data to be collected.

  4. In configuration

This status indicates that you have just created the campaign, but the collection has not yet started. You can continue to configure your project (adding entities, creating tags, indicators, etc.). On the tool side, your collectors will not be able to provide values because the collection table is read-only.

To launch the collection, everything is explained in this article 👉 How to open a new collection campaign?

Here are the 4 main statuses of a campaign.
You also have the option, manually, to set this one to read-only, everything is described in this article.
